More than 100.000 fans at European Bike Week 2009

From the 8th till 13th of September more than 100.000 Harley Davidson fans gathered at the small village Faak, which is located at the Faak Lake in the province of Kaernten in Austria.

The entrance for the 6-days event was of course free just like it had been in the past 11 years.

75.000 V-Twins were gathered over 40.000 m?² in the large Harley Village.

22 music bands performed on the main stage while 12 other bands played in the other big tents, which included bands such as Lennerockers, John Deer and Headliner, The Boss Hoss and Chris Thompson with the Mads Eriksen Band.

In the Expo-Tent visitors had a chance to take a glimpse at the new 2010 models.

Right next to the tent visitors could participate at one of the 4 tours offered by the organizers, which would take you on demo-drive bikes from Harley-Davidson and Buell alongside the picturesque routes in the Alpes.

More than 20 European Harley-Davidson and Buell dealer as well as 70 independent trader presented the latest bikes, accessories, clothes and riding-equipment while more than 25 catering companies made sure that no-one would be left hungry or thirsty.

The customize area this year was even bigger than last year, in which big shots such as Orange County Choppers and Thunderbike showed their skills and master-pieces as well as their latest trends on two-wheels.

On Friday the big Custom Bike Show took place, which was won by a Belgian participant who is now invited to a trip to Sturgis (USA) where he will participate at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building.

Another lucky winner at that day was a gentleman from Stuttgart, who won a Custom Fat Boy with a 8 Ball Paintworks paint-job.

One of the major high-lights was like always the big parade, in which more than 30.000 participants drove on Saturday from Villach to Ossiacher Lake. I wish we had so many active Harley owners in Egypt and the Middle East.

Next year the European Harley Davidson Week Austria will take place from the 7th till 12th of September 2010 and we at Auto Arabia are looking forward to be reporting live from the location next year.
